This comes under the heading of “you have got to be kidding me”, if it did not concern a woman who was beheaded it would be "funny strange" heading.
You remember Muzzammil “Mo” Hassan, the pile of goat dung from Buffalo, NY charged in the stabbing and decapitation of his wife in February 2009.
Well, according to Sandra Tan of the Buffalo News and the report she filed with her newspaper on July 18, he says that we have this all wrong. He wants the truth to be know, the truth according to Hassan is that he is the victim here and he blames his slain wife.
The report states “Contrary to the pile of evidence and witness corroboration that he mentally tormented and physically beat his wife over a period of years, he said, the truth is that he was the one “emotionally tortured” by his outwardly kind and sweet-natured wife, Aasiya Zubair Hassan.”
Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk recently ruled that the former banker and head of an Islam – oriented cable network (Bridges TV) statement from Feb. 12, 2009, “that he just killed his wife”, is admissible as evidence.
Aasiya was back in school getting her master’s degree; she had filed for divorce a week before her death and told others she feared for her safety. She had filed multiple police complaints, received orders of protection, produced photos of her injuries, and signed an extensive divorce affidavit attesting to her trauma.
Fox News said, “The killing and its aftermath raise hard questions for Muslims — about gender issues, about distinctions between cultural and religious practices, and about differing interpretations of Islamic texts regarding the treatment of women.”
"Muslims don't want to talk about this for good reason," said Saleemah Abdul-Ghafur, a Muslim author and activist. "There is so much negativity about Muslims, and it sort of perpetuates it. The right wing is going to run with it and misuse it. But we've got to shine a light on this issue so we can transform it."
It is nice to see that if Sharia Law does not work for you in our courts you can fall back on good old American stupid legal defense tactics. Maybe someone should tell him about Twinkies.
